Treasure Coast Junior Lifeguard's Surf Lifesaving "Club"

 Every Saturday  from 9:00am-12:00pm.

Location Jensen Public Beach (Southend parking lot)


Perquisite to program:

Prior to acceptance to Junior Lifeguard Club children ( 9-18 years olds) must pass swim test at Sailfish Splash 6:30pm.

  1. Child must swim continuously (without stopping or taking breaks on the wall) for 100 yards (back and forth in a 25 yard pool 4 times) showing a coordinated swim stroke of a free style, breast stroke or combination.
  2. Child must tread water for 1 minute.
  3. Child must retrieve 3 dive rings off the bottom of a 7' deep pool.


*Our Junior Lifeguard "Camps" are more of an entry level and have a swim assessment, but not as challenging as above swim test due a 3:1 camper to lifeguard ratio. *We will be holding "Camps" for Christmas Break, Spring Break and Summer Break.

*If swim lesson are needed due to not meeting swim requirements for Club level then a  swimming instructor can be referred.

A monthly membership of $200 ( month to month no annual requirement) will include the following:
Drop ins are welcome first come first serve if there is availability $60/day

Long Distant and Sprint Running 

Refine free style swim stroke, treading water and other swim techniques on pool day (tentative)

 Knowledge and Skills Training Requirements

Knowledge developing a situational awareness at the beach and in the ocean

Knowledge understanding weather and waves

Learn water rescue and self-rescue skills

Learn medical and trauma lifesaving skills

  • CPR
  • Bleeding Control
  • First-Aid


*The Following Equipment will be provided: Surfboards, Prone Paddle Boards, and Body Surfing Fins

*All children will be individually assessed on their skills with weekly check off sheet to show they are meeting our standard of proficiency with their knowledge, skills, and physical training requirements.
